I want this!

As I’m preparing to launch my own website, I thought I’d create a post to help you with your launch too!

Launching your new website is an exciting time but as you’ll know, the prep can be overwhelming (to say the least ?). From functionality checks to domain set-up and SEO – there’s a lot to remember.

Get ready for a successful launch and use this checklist as a guide to make sure you don’t miss anything important!

1. Finalise the design on Showit.

Do your finishing touches and test the design on desktop, tablet and mobile to ensure its responsive and looks good on all devices.

2. Integrate your blog.

If you’re planning on having a blog, you’ll need to integrate it into your website. You’ll be able to migrate your existing posts or if you don’t have a blog yet try to add at least 3 posts to help show you up as an expert.

3. Add search engine optimisation.

Make sure your Showit website is optimised with the use of keywords, page titles, meta descriptions, text tags and image SEO titles. Your SEO strategy can be developed over time but making sure you have the basics in place will set you off to a good start.

4. Plan + prepare launch marketing.

Decide where you’re going to promote your launch and prepare some posts, adverts, graphics and marketing material to help spread the world.

5. Proof-read + quality check content.

Check all of your copy, images, graphics etc. to make sure there are no spelling errors or quality issues that could make your site look unprofessional.

6. Perform functionality tests.

Take the time to test your site on all devices to make sure its working correctly and there aren’t any broken links or issues with your plugins or loading time that could turn your visitors away.

7. Connect your domain.

Point your domain to your website and test to make sure it works correctly. It can take up to 48 hours for a domain to connect so give yourself plenty of time to do this beforehand.

8. Publish + celebrate! ?

When you’re ready to go, hit publish and celebrate your launch – you deserve it!! ??
